Arab Spring (dec 18, 2010 – dec 8, 2012)

Description:

The date is the day it began and the uprisings faded around 2012- In response to the oppressive government people were experiencing in the Middle East, many people protested and rebelled. These numerous uprisings are called Arab Spring and are known for being driven by social media. The protesters would use social media platforms such as Facebook to share the reality of what was happening to the world. They sought help from outside countries as government responded violently. However, many countries were eventually able to obtain more democratic governments but since this event was not too long ago, the true effects of this rebellion are somewhat unknown.
