Russian Revolution (mar 8, 1917 – nov 7, 1917)

Description:

The date is the day it began- The Russian Revolution was a series of uprisings that took action to overthrow the Tsarists AUTOCRACY. When this empire collapsed it was replaced by a provisional government run by the DUMA. However, this government was soon overthrown as well and the Soviets took full control. This then led to four men, Lenin, Trotsky, Sverdlov, and Stalin essentially running the country. Lenin was the primary leader and early in his newly founded power, he established a ONE PARTY STATE in a effort to abolish opposition.
