King Noah (dec 15, 194 BC – may 30, 145 BC)

Description:

Son of Zeniff, and the king after his father.

We are not given any indication as to his age, and no dates are listed for the period of his reign. We can, however, estimate some things based on dates given in other areas.

Noah was a very wicked king and lived in luxury procured from the exorbitant tax he placed on the people. He also got rid of the good priests that had served his father and replaced them with false priests who joined him in his wickedness.
It was during his reign that Abinadi preached, and it was his order that caused the death of that prophet (urged on by his evil priests). He also tried to kill Alma the Elder, who was converted by Abinadi.
When the Lamanites attacked he fled with his priests and some others, ordering them to leave their wives and children behind. He was eventually burnt at the stake by those who fled with him.

I list him being born in 194, when Zeniff was 27 and five years after the return to the Land of Nephi.
He would have thus been 26 when he became king. I have his death in 145, after 23 years as king, when he was 49.
