King Mosiah II (may 11, 154 BC – dec 26, 91 BC)

Description:

All that we know of him is contained in the Book of Mosiah. In fact, that book is named after Mosiah II as it begins when he became king, and ends when he dies.

He was the last of the Nephite kings and instituted the Judges that came after him. He was a seer and, later in his life, translated the 24 Jaredite plates, from which we get the Book of Ether. It doesn't seem that there were any major wars with the Lamanites during his reign.
The story of his sons rebellion and later conversion occurred during his life. They left on their mission the year before he died.

Mosiah II is one of two men that we are given ages for in the entire record (the other being Alma the Elder). He died in the year 91, and was 63 years old when he died. We are also told that he was 30 when he became king. From these numbers we can accurately calculate the year he was born, and we can use these numbers to estimate the lives of his father and grandfather, as well as his sons.

So, he was born in the year 154, making his father 64 when he was born. He died in the year 91 at the age of 63.
