The Fourth Book of Nephi was abridged by Mormon from records kept at the time. It covers the longest period of time of any book in the record, and was taken from records kept by four different men.
1. Nephi III, son of Nephi II.
2. Amos I, son of Nephi III.
3. Amos II, son of Amos I.
4. Ammaron, the son of Amos I.
However, the record is so brief, and covers such a vast period of time (286 years), that almost no details can be discerned from the account given.
