The period of time covered in the book of Jacob.
The Book of Jacob was written by Jacob, the son of Lehi, and brother of Nephi, the author of the first two books Nephi. The Book of Jacob was also recorded on the Small Plates of Nephi.
The time period covered in approximately from the death of Nephi to the death of Jacob. This had to be some considerable time, given the dates in the text, and thus, while shorter than the books of Nephi it actually covers about the same period of time as those two books combined.
