Description:
A time period during which the classical scientific knowledge of ancient Romans and Greeks was rediscovered in Europe and new advancements were made until it was considered that more was known in the present than in the past. It is generally regarded as starting when Copernicus published his theory of a heliocentric solar system and ended with Sir Isaac Newton's Principia.
