Reign of King Canute, Danish/Viking (mar 10, 1016 – oct 31, 1035)
Description:
was a Danish king who conquered England and made England part of his North Sea empire which included Denmark, Norway, and parts of modern Sweden.
The Danes and the Normans, who were now Christian groups, descended from the Vikings. The North Sea empire fell apart after Canute’s death and King Edward the Confessor (1042-1066) reunited England under Anglo-Saxon rule.
