Glorious Revolution (nov 5, 1688 – apr 1, 1689)
Description:
King James II was Roman Catholic, and this had already made the non-Catholic majority of England uncomfy. He issued two Declarations of Indulgence, ordering additional religious stuff on the people. Around the same time, his son was born, and so England was afraid the trend would never end. So William of Orange was convinced to attempt a takeover. James fled and so William was able to carry on the government. William ended up establishing a new Parliament, and passed the English Bill of Rights. England's government power was firmly in the hands of Parliament.
