Description:
French influence and a norman invasion, helped to develope the middle english. Wiliam "the conquerer" a frenchman, became the king of England in 1066. About 10 000 french words was integrated with the English language. The kings, royal court and nobility, used the French language for more than 300 years.Added to timeline:
