Description:
Severe internal crisis:
- Fiscal crisis: Hacienda had no money, and the
loss of some American colonies made things
worse.
- Political tensions: the liberals, persecuted by the monarchy, rebelled several times.
- Dynastic succession: the Pragmatic Sanction (1830) abolished the Ley Sálica, so that, Fernando's daughter could be the queen.
