Excessive spending and poor harvests lead to a financial crisis in France (dec 31, 1786 – dec 1, 1787)

Description:

During Louis XVI's reign over France, acts of tyranny against the French people and poor economic decisions made by Louis XVI and his administration. The excessive taxation of the poor to continue the support of French military efforts in overseas territories and even in Europe itself strained the political and social spheres of France. As well as this, bad seasonal harvests led to food prices being exacerbated to the point of starvation, if not close to it, for peasants.
