Norman Invasion Of England (sep 1, 1066 – jan 1, 1072)
Description:
The Norman Invasion of England, launched by Duke William of Normandy, subjected the Angles and the Saxons of England to Norman rule. The Normans kept many Anglo-Saxon traditions; however, they did reduce the power of lords and retainers, abolishing the feudal system in England. The Normans strengthened their rule with a tightly centralized government and a well-disciplined military. (3.2)
