Tet Offensive (jan 30, 1968 – jun 8, 1968)

Description:

Tet was a Buddhist holiday when both the North and the South would cease all military action. However, the VC used it as a way to launch a surprise attack against every city, village, and US military base in South Vietnam. some battles lasted for hours and others lasted form months before the VC would retreat.
The media did not help with the public as coverage of the offensive turned public opinion against the war further.
