Ming Empire (jan 1, 1368 – jan 1, 1644)

Description:

The Ming empire worked to reestablish Chinese traditions disrupted by the Yuan Empire (Confucian study spiked), and held anti-Mongol policies during this period. These harmed the economy and trade, though, and these were discontinued. The empire was more isolated from the rest of the world than past Chinese empires, eventually leading to its downfall. The fenced off image represents the empire's isolation.
