Description:
Prince Henry The Navigator (1394 - 1460):
Henry the Navigator’s title is actually a misnomer. He never really went on a voyage, however, he was a very significant patron and sponsored many voyages to the Americas. Allowed for voyages that explored and charted the Madeira Islands and western coast of Africa. He wanted opportunities to be a part of the commerce of West African products, especially slaves and gold. He primarily wanted to establish profitable colonies on underexploited islands.
