Conquistadors (jun 27, 1493 – mar 17, 1537)

Description:

Conquistadors were sent back to the territories that Christopher Columbus established himself as governor to collect gold and gain land territory. They signed contracts with Spanish monarchs that stated that the professional soldiers would bring back the gold they collected in exchange for a percentage of the wealth gained in conquered lands. These conquistadors started forming alliances with tribes that they came across which eventually led to the conquests of some of the Mesoamerican civilizations that had been established.
