Description:
These were protests that lasted about a year because of the segregation of buses in Montgomery, Alabama. Rosa Parks, a member of the NAACP did not give up her seat to a white man. An effect of this was that segregation of buses was ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. Violence also erupted as some buses were shot at by angered whites.Added to timeline:
