Description:
In 1271, Marco Polo, his father, and his uncle all left Venice to head to Asia. They arrived at the Mongol court of Kublai Khan and Marco quickly became acquainted with Kublai. The Mongol leader began sending Marco on diplomatic missions, establishing a very strong relationship with the Polos. (3.3)
