Abbasid Dynasty (jan 1, 800 – jan 1, 1258)
Description:
The Abbasid Dynasty was the third caliphate to lead the Arab world after the death of the prophet Muhammed. The Abbasids conquered the Umayyad Dynasty following the internal weakness of their predecessors. During the rule of the Abbasids, Islam experienced a “Golden Age” - ancient texts were being translated from Greek and there were “Houses of Wisdom” being built, giving birth to a scholarly age.
