AKA Abstract Expressionism. American art movement, has two main streams; Action Painting and Colour-Field Painting. Includes sculpture as well. Associated with Greenburg, and the artists Polluck, Rothko, Newman, Smith, and Nevelson. Secretly promoted by CIA to contrast USSR Social Realism.
