Fourth Generation Leaders (feb 3, 2002 – apr 16, 2012)
Description:
Fourth generation leaders stepped up as the third generation stepped down in accordance with term limits, marking the first orderly transition of power. General secretary was Hu Jintao, who, like many leaders this generation, grew up under the cultural revolution and believed in a more harmonious society. However, corruption and disagreement was also high, and contributed to instability/party crackdowns and decreased legitimacy of the CCP.
