Spanish American War (apr 21, 1898 – aug 13, 1898)
Description:
The Spanish American War started when American ship Maine sank with no explanation and America said that Cuba, which was spanish controlled, has a right to independence and demanded that spanish forces leave Cuba. The war was heavily one-sided, with Spain not getting its navy nor army ready for war compared to the U.S. military. The war ended with Spain leaving Cuba and giving Guam and Puerto Rico to the U.S.
