Shackleton–Rowett Expedition (sep 17, 1921 – sep 16, 1922)
Description:
The Shackleton–Rowett Expedition was captained by Sir Ernest Shackleton and financed by John Quiller Rowett. It's plan was to mark over 2,000 miles of uncharted coastline on the Antarctic continent. It was also to search for the phantom islands around Antarctica such as Dougherty, Tuanaki, and the Nimrod Islands. The search turned up empty along with the loss of Captain Shackleton.
