Italian Futurism (jan 1, 1909 – jan 1, 1945)
Description:
Emphasized on technological advances, and idealized war, specifically as a tool to "cleanse". Later associated with fascism. Started from a manifesto written by the poet Marinetti. Died out with the war as most of the painters for it had fought in it, and was revitalized by Marinetti in time for WWII. Associated artists include Boccioni and Balla.
