Ernest Rutherford (aug 30, 1871 – oct 19, 1973)
Description:
He died in Cambridge, United Kingdom. In 1911 he was the first to discover that atoms have a small charged nucleus surrounded by largely empty space. This idea (or planetary type model) became known as the Rutherford model. The experiment he did to discover this information was his gold foil experiment.
