Martin Luther (sep 3, 1483 – sep 4, 1546)
Description:
A great reformer. After nearly dying, he promised to become a monk, which he did, and later a priest. Through studying scripture, he realized that no amount of good work could outweigh one's sin. He wrote the "Ninety-Five Theses", challenging the Roman Catholic belief. He was given 60 days to recant, He was excommunicated. He was also banished later.
