Slave Uprising in Haiti (aug 21, 1791 – jan 1, 1804)
Description:
In Haiti, a french colony, a slave revolt was led by a former slave, Toussaint-Louverture. He used guerrilla style techniques in the war, and after he was arrested in 1803 after a cease fire was made, he was tortured and killed. Soon after, Napoleon tried to reintroduce slavery to Haiti, where it was immediately met with met with another revolt. The rebels, with British aid, won.
