-william was an English poet, playwright and actor, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's greatest dramatist. He is often called England's national poet and the "Bard of Avon". Shakespeare produced most of his known works between 1589 and 1613. His early plays were comedies and histories and are regarded as some of the best work produced in these genres. Until about 1608, he wrote mainly tragedies, among them Hamlet, romeo and juliet, Othello, King Lear, and Macbeth, all considered to be among the finest works in the English language. -shakespeare and the globe, the globe was biult in 1599 on the south bank of the River Thames. some famous plays of shakespear were performed at the Globe theatre.
The elizabethans did not bath very often so the globe were smelly. the female charachters in shakespears plays have been acted by boys that weared wigs and make-up. the globe have been destroyed in 1613 during a performance of shakespears play king henry the eighth so they build a second Globe on the remains of the first and shakespear became part-owner of the new bildning because he was so wealthy and famous during this time. in 1642 because of the civil war, all london theatres were closed.
