Salem Witch Trials (feb 21, 1692 – may 28, 1693)

Description:

The Salem Witch Trials were a series of prosecutions of witchcraft that left 200 people accused and 19 dead during the largest witch hunt in American history. The Puritans' strict societal norms led to a mass paranoia and hundreds of false accusations. The code of justice was "guilty until proven innocent", and was changed to the famous saying we know today after the trials.
