Meiji Restoration (jan 1, 1868 – jan 1, 1878)
Description:
The Meiji Restoration started in 1868 until 1878 in Japan. After Commodore Matthew Perry came to their ports, he told them they should open them. Japan and their government, Tokugawa Shogunate, listened and decided to introduce themselves to the world. They created an army and navy because they didn't have one before and were introduced to western culture, clothes, and trends. Due to their revolution, Japan came into the real world and didn't hide themselves anymore.
