The Industrial Revolution (jan 1, 1750 – dec 31, 1850)
Description:
Another revolution not involving independence but is just as important is the Industrial Revolution. Machines like the spinning jenny and the flying shuttle made making clothes easier, and the power loom would eventually combine the two. This introduced the idea of mass production, which is critical to our life today. For the first time, we became a consumer society, buying things that we wanted and didn't need. However, this brought up a series of issues, from women's rights to public education.
