Agricultural Revolution (jan 1, 1750 – jan 1, 1880)

Description:

Who: This revolution was primarily focused on farmers and livestock. The improvement in farming efficiency also caused the population to spike.

What: The Agricultural Revolution was a time period where improvements of farm related technology and crop productivity were becoming more efficient. Many new inventions were created; the seed drill increased the efficiency of sowing, and a four crop rotation system was invented to increase the amount of food throughout Britain.

When: 1750-1880

Where: The improvements in agriculture and farming started in Great Britain during the industrial revolution.

Why: It started here because there was lots of land perfect for farming but there needed to be some sort of improvement in efficiency to assure the available land could be utilized to its highest. The technologies and ideas that started in Britain spread across the globe, and soon enough most of the planet had adapted their own agricultural revolution.
