Charles V was the most powerful man on the planet at his time. He ruled over Spain The Holy Roman Empire a majority of the Americas or the new world and he had some colonies in the Netherlands. Charles was a defender of Catholic faith. because of this he had the other most powerful man on his side. This was the Pope who let him do almost anything he wanted.
