The Reign of Mary Tudor (jan 1, 1553 – nov 17, 1558)

Description:

Mary Tudor or Bloody Mary was the only child of Catherine and Henry to survive past infancy. She hated the Anglican beliefs, because it is what tore her parents apart, and immediately killed all Anglican priests unless they became Catholic. She even arrested Thomas Cranmer and held him as a prisoner until he wrote down that he was actually a Catholic, and even after he did it he was still killed. To keep the religion of England as Catholcisim, Mary married Philip II of Spain. Everyone hated that she married Phillip, but she continued on. The marriage never produced any children and both became very bored with each other and the alliance with their countries kept dragging England into military conflicts with France. As their marriage came to an end, Mary died of ovarian cancer, and Elizabeth, her half sister became queen.
