Agricultural Revolution (jan 1, 1750 – jan 1, 1880)

Description:

The Agricultural Revolution started in Great Britain in the mid-1750's- late 1800's and transformed the agriculture industry from traditional medieval farming to more productive, efficient, and mechanical methods of farming through new innovations. The agricultural revolution included many innovations such as the enclosure movement which made common land into private land, Jethro Tull's seed drill which allowed seed drilling to be much more efficient, and the four crop rotation system. All of these innovations and many more allowed farmers to grow more crops in order to make a larger profit. However, these innovations took away jobs from people which created an increase in urbanization. The agricultural revolution transformed farming in addition to being a cause for the Industrial Revolution.
