Song (jun 25, 960 – mar 12, 1279)
Description:
After the loss of power from the Tang Dynasty and it looked as if nomadic rule was bound to happen again, a military leader, Zhao Kuangyin emerged to unite China like it used to be. After he was renamed Emperor Taizu, he eliminated all of his rivals and emerged to become the first ruler of the Song Dynasty. The Song Dynasty had a prosperous economy, had an urban Chinese culture, and improved art, science, technology and lifestyle. Eventually, the constant pressure from the north was too much for the Song to handle, and the Khan’s adaptability was too much for the Songs to handle.
