Description:
Humanist who began to try to reform the Catholic church. Corrected many of the translation errors in the Vulgate (the translation of the Bible from Hebrew to Latin in the 5th century by St. Jerome). He wrote fully in Latin and therefore only really appealed to academics like himself who could actually understand what he was saying.Added to timeline:
