French Religious Wars (mar 1, 1562 – apr 1, 1598)
Description:
These were civil wars in France between the French Protestants, the Huguenots, and the Catholics. Many inconclusive conflicts followed, and compromises were reached in 1563, 1568, and 1570. The wars ended once Henry of Navare became king and created religious toleration for Huguenots guaranteed by the Edict of Nantes. His reign fixed the mistakes of monarchs before him
