The Second World War (sep 1, 1939 – sep 2, 1945)
Description:
The German invasion of Poland marks the beginning of WW2. The Axis (Japan, Germany, Italy) and the Allies (France, UK, Soviet Union) battle it out in European and Pacific theaters. Many atrocities occur such as Japanese war crimes against the Chinese, and the German extermination of Jews during the Holocaust. The battle ends in Axis defeat after the invasion of Germany by the Allies and the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The end of the war leads to the formation of the United Nations in order to prevent another event such as this from happening again.
