King Philip's War (jun 20, 1675 – apr 12, 1678)
Description:
An armed, bloody conflict between colonists of New England and native american Indians caused by misunderstandings related to the arrival of Puritans and non-religious adventurers in search of fortune that ruined the already fragile friendship between the colonists and Powhatan Indians. Named after the leader of the Powhatan Indians, the conflict lasted close to 3 years and ended with the signing of The Treaty of Casco Bay, declaring peace between the two groups.
