Iran-Iraq War (sep 22, 1980 – aug 30, 1988)
Description:
Iraq, under the rule of Seddam Hussein, invaded Iran as he and Khomeini were enemies. During the war, Iraq, using chemical weapons, and Iran (pulling children as young as 12 to fight the war) both violated the laws of war. The war ended August of 1988 when the UN finally stepped in and mediated this dispute between the two countries.Added to timeline:
