Transcendentalist movement (oct 21, 1820 – jun 26, 1830)
Description:
This movement basically disregarded religious beliefs and strictly focused on intellectualism. Thoreau was an avid follower of this movement in that he did introduce civil disobedience. This movement helped the abolitionist movement significantly.
