Description:
He was king of Israel after killing Pekah. He reigned for 9 years.It is not known how old he was when he became king, so only the years of his reign are depicted here.
During his reign Shalmaneser, King of Assyria, invaded and Hoshea became a tribute monarch. However, he secret sent to Egypt for assistance, for which Shalmaneser once again invaded and destroyed the city of Samaria. At this time the Ten Tribes were all taken captive and the Northern Kingdom of Israel ceased to exist.
