Gradual Change: Specialized Mental Care Available. (jan 1, 1921 – jan 1, 1929)

Description:

After WW1, The American Legion worked with health officials to make sure that Veterans that had mental issues due to the war were not placed into mental asylums, but rather Specialized Treatment Facilities. During this period the Federal Government helped. After 1929, the program had managed the issue and the Legion kept providing general healthcare to Veterans. This shows that the government at the time actually made sure that there was more responsibility for taking care of its Veterans.
