EERO SAARINEN (jan 9, 1910 – jan 3, 1961)

Description:

Architect, urban planner and Finnish writer. Together with his father, the architect Eliel Saarinen, he moved to the United States, at thirteen years of age. He studied sculpture in Paris between 1930 and 1931, and architecture at Yale University with Albers, assimilating the most current European currents of the moment. He worked with his father in Cranbrook's studio from 1936 until the death of his father in 1950. At that time, the Crow Island school in Winnetka, Illinois, designed in collaboration with his father, stands out.
