Mercantilism and Danish trope colonies (jan 1, 1600 – dec 31, 1917)

Description:

The Danish colonies was important for the Danish trade and self-understanding
Mercantilism was the economic policy in the 1600's and 1700's. The policy had it focus on trade and craft
Triangle trade between Denmark, The golden coast (Africa) and the Danish west India.
Ships filled with weapons and alcohol sailed to the Golden-Coast --> traded for slaves --> sailed to the west India --> sugar and other products was sailed back to Denmark.

"Trankebar" Denmark and Norway got now trade in Asia (trade, tax etc.)
Cotton was an important good
The colony was not so good in terms of delivering goods, so Denmark sold the colony to The Great Britain in 1845
The trade between the golden coast and Denmark and Norway was mostly gold and "elfenben".
Danish-Norweign ships was packed with slaves
