Description:
The scientific revolution occurred as scientists sought to find technological solutions to navigation problems and the rise of mathematics, astronomy and physics, leading to a branch of science known as Natural Philosophy. It was able to occur in Europe due to a rise in education, building upon the humanist movement of the Renaissance and spread due to printing technology. The scientific revolution also allowed methods such as empiricism and observation to take root, setting the stage for modern development of the scientific method.
