Life of Samuel the prophet.
The dates given here are estimated guesses.
We know he was born during the life of Eli. Then we know that within 12 years of Samuel's birth Eli's sons were condemned for their continued transgression at the Tabernacle. So, if they had entered the service when Samuel was born, they would have 25 at the time, making Eli in his 40's.
Then, we know that Samuel lived long enough to anoint David king, but before Saul died.
Of course, the period in which Eli lived is also a guess, but based on that guess, I give the following dates for Samuel, showing his birth when Eli was 50, and dying three years before Saul.
