The Charlottetown Conference and Québec Conference (oct 10, 1864 – oct 26, 1864)

Description:

The Charlottetown conference was held on April 25, 1864 began talking about three Maritime provinces Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island to join Ontario and Québec in their union. Nothing had been put in place by the end of the Charlottetown conference but it became the foundation for the Québec conference. The conference was held a few months later on October 10, 1864. At the time Britain and the United States's were not on good terms and this assembly was held as an extra push to bring the Maritime provinces into the Québec-Ontario union as a way of fortifying against the American's case thing case war impedes. Although nothing had been enacted at the end of this conference either, he came the stencil for the Canadian Confederation
